Relax At Your Favorite Coffee Shop

By Karyn Lewis

Enjoy your coffee shop to relax as well as to enjoy great drinks. If you only show up there on your way to work you may not see it in the same light. You may be pushed for time to get your morning coffee and still clock in before the boss does so you can get your day started. Most of us are very busy but if you can take some time for yourself in the afternoon then your coffee shop can offer you a great place to relax.

This is one of the best places in town where you can do something like that. Try to go to the coffee shop in the late morning or the early afternoon. This way you can avoid the crowds. You won't have to stand in a long line to get served. You also won't have to wait around for a table to open up where you can sit down.

The cost of a cup of coffee is well worth the mental relaxation that I get from the atmosphere. There are a couple of different coffee shops in town that I frequent for such relaxation. Each one has a different feel to it and a different dcor. I tend to choose the one I will visit based on the drink I feel like as well as the mood I happen to be in.

I love to just relax and let time go by as I sit in the coffee shop and read some quality material. Other times I watch the other people busily walking by outside of the coffee shop. I appreciate the fact that I am able to relax for that bit of time instead of rushing around with them. Sometimes I will jot down ideas for work or write letters but for the most part I just steer clear of anything that has to do with work while I am in this type of environment.

I don't always want to go to the coffee shop alone though and that is a choice for you as well. I may invite my spouse, a friend, or even a small group of friends to go with me once in a while. I have to tell you though that I really savor the alone time I get while relaxing at a coffee shop. Therefore I usually go by myself and just hang out for a short period of time. I also don't have to keep an eye on the time to get there promptly to meet others if it is just my day to go alone.

Some individuals are intimidated to enter a coffee shop to just hang out. Yet you need to understand they want you to do so. Otherwise they wouldn't have tables and chairs in the place to relax. You may start to see several familiar faces too when you go to such coffee shops. There are plenty of regulars that stop in for afternoon coffee and some quiet time.

Of course you can benefit from the short lines and great tasting drinks when you go to a coffee shop to relax during off peak times. Many coffee shops as have drink specials so you can save money as well. You just might find this is one place you enjoy hanging out and spending some of your free time on a regular basis.

While you can definitely go to a coffee shop in the morning for your fix to get your day started, don't forget it is there later on. You may find that spending even 30 minutes at the local coffee shop before you head home can help you make the transition from work to your home life. It can help you to reduce the stress in your life and focus on what you have to look forward to that evening.

Coffee Grinder: Antinque is the Best

By Peter Wilson

The aroma of fresh coffee and freshly ground coffee beans is one of the most appealing elements of drinking coffee for coffee andespresso lovers. The appeal decreases when the coffee comes pre-ground and the sound of the grinders irritate the ears. For people who do not want the noise of the electric coffee grinders should look into purchasing an antique coffee grinder before they start their brew.

Antique coffee grinders can make the perfect coarseness and aroma. These styles of coffee grinders ensure that the beans are not overheated as they are ground. Their appeal does not only come from the coffee they create, but also from their style. They are extremely esthetically appealing and can suit almost anyone's dcor. Antique style furnishings are even considered popular among modern design.

The coffee grinders that were made in the 1920's are among the most desired. They were made during the Art Deco movement and therefore continue to be popular even today. The sleek design and the clean lines are what make this design so attractive. They are not overly difficult to find either. Anything made in the Art Deco movement would match this clean style design.

There are also more traditional models available for people who desire that design. There are antique coffee grinders that can be used on the countertop or mounted on the wall. The charm and function of an antique coffee grinder cannot be beat. It adds a class and design to any kitchen that is unbeatable. Many people adore the lovely design of their grinders. The simplicity of the grinder with the small drawer for catching grinds is irresistible.

The mills are typically wood construction and can be left unpainted. The detail is the grinders are often very delicate and meticulous. The detail is even found in the handles. The handles are most often made of cast iron. Cast iron has always been a desired material for kitchen dcor and cooking. The Parker Nation grinder was made around 1905 and is the definition of traditional coffee mills. This mill has a bronze finish and a very attractive shape. One of the most desired of the antique coffee mills is a German or French design. This grinder is known for its wall mount as well as porcelain face. Coffee Roasters Are The Order Of The Day

By Leroy Calstard

Coffee roasters are an important device for processing green beans. Various kinds of coffee roasters are available in the market. And it comes in different shapes and sizes. Their prices also vary from a minimum of 24$ to a 1000$. But as we all know that prices depends mostly on the brand name. Like investing in a Saeco coffee making machine, you may find that name brands may be better. We will be discussing a few information about what to look for when one thinks of buying a coffee roaster.

A brief information

The simplest form of roaster comes basically as a sauce pan with a tight lid and a sturdy handle. It can be put up on a stove and the beans can be roasted in the pan. The handle is specially designed which allows the roaster to stir the beans while processing. It is important to keep on stirring the beans while roasting so that it does not get burnt at the bottom. While looking for a simple roaster one must not forget to buy a roaster which has a thermometer in the lid because controlling temperature is vital part of roasting. Roasting should always be done maintaining the perfect temperature. Fully automatic roasters are also available in the market where we just need to pour the beans, put on the lid and set the controls right and it will be done to perfection within a few minutes. These automatic devices have inbuilt thermometers, thermostatically controlled heating mechanisms, rotating canisters, timers for automatic shut off and it also controls the air flow but reduces the smoke in the process. These roasters happens to carry an expensive price tag on them.

Another type of roaster works just like a pop corn maker. When the beans are poured in the hot air circulates and thus the beans gets stirred up and gives an uniform roast. Some roasters have glass exteriors to let the user watch the process while controlling the roast. Some have filters which enables to remove the skins of the beans when it bursts open. Some roasters also have pre set modes of roasting beans.

The most significant feature of a coffee roaster is that it should circulate the air evenly and heat the beans uniformly. So different models have different designs to meet the exact combination. Another type of roasters are called drum roasters. The technique used by this device focuses greatly on the gravity to move the beans around rather than depending on the bottom stirrer. Now a days roasters are available where one can roast large quantity of beans. And the amount of smoke also increases simultaneously. So, good ventilation is needed while roasting a large quantity of beans. Since various kinds of coffee roasters are easily available in the market now, a little bit of experience can make the perfect roast.

The Shelf Life of Coffee Beans

By Peter de Vizard

Before you decide what is the shelf life of coffee beans, you will need to first of all consider the type of coffee beans. When it concerns green coffee beans that have been stored in a dry environment, the shelf life can be ten years or more. This is how such the name of "aged coffee" has occurred, when they have been stored for long periods of time. Lots like wine, aged coffee increases quality over time.

The Shelf life of Roasted Coffee Beans

Roasted coffee beans have totally different requirements with regard to shelf life. Such coffee beans will not last for more than two weeks provided the coffee beans if stored properly. Also such coffee beans will begin to lose whatever flavor they had and thus it is recommended that you should use this kind of coffee within a week of them being roasted because after two weeks they will become stale.

The shelf life of ground coffee beans, which is said to have the shortest shelf life of all coffee beans, and it in reality will last for just one hour after which it will lose much of its flavor. Therefore you should only ground coffee beans an hour prior to consumption though of course the Arabs are used to grinding, roasting and brewing coffee beans in one single setting since this, according to them, shows the best flavored coffees.

No matter what the shelf life of coffee beans is, one thing that has endured the test of time is that coffee continues to remain one of most popular beverages available and has endured centuries of competition from other drinks including tea.

The knowledge of know how long the use as a guide for the shelf like of your coffee beans will be a good guide for you. Keep in mind that the beans will need, cool temperatures, a lack of light and low humidity to get the maximum storage time, at the same time not losing any quality. May you have many tasty coffees for years to come, Starbucks hopes you do ;)

Types of Roasters Cruel to be Kind

By Ray Walberg

It's not without the least bit of discussion that coffee roasters continued their reign. People have individualized coffee roasters for their individualized tastes if they can get what they are looking for at Dunkin' Donuts or at the grocery store. There is a wide variety of coffee roasters available priced from relatively reasonable to excessive at best. It really depends on what type of roaster it is a chore looking for, for you to be able to fully say what type of roaster is best for you and your needs.

Off-Roaster on Coffee

If you are a simpler type of coffee drinker and you really don't mind too much about what type of coffee visit you drink, then maybe you don't even need a roaster at all. If you don't know the difference between a toddy coffee maker an an espresso maker, then don't worry about it! However if you are fed up with the various blends of coffee which all taste the same to you then you should certainly consider getting a roaster. While it may not do a whole lot for your tastes but sensations and it may end up costing you a whole lot more in time preparing your coffee daily, there is something to be said for having a roaster which will change your coffee drinking experience.

Types of Roasters: Cruel to be Kind

Getting your own individual roaster will also show people that you have advanced from your previous position of freeze-dried, auto drip, instant coffee. People who drink coffee directly from the roaster show an enhanced level of intelligence so if you're trying to impress a lady or something like that then maybe you should get a roaster and learn how to use it so that when you invite her back for coffee later at your house she can be impressed with your culture and be ashamed of her own auto drip experience. Or maybe, more likely, it's the other way around. In either event getting a roaster for your home is an inspiration to everybody who will come through.

There are simple roasters and then there are much more complicated roasters which are available. Actually it is the simple roasters which will require the most amount of effort on your behalf and it is the technically complicated roasters which will present the least amount of effort for you once you have mastered the process.

But the simple roasters are pretty inexpensive and the complicated roasters are quite expensive so you should be sure that you get a roaster which is completely within your price range, completely within your budget, and is something that you will use. If you buy a roaster and don't end up using it then you are doing nobody is service and you are doing yourself and your roaster, actually, a disservice.

Coffee: 50 Degrees of Enjoyment

By Vince Paxton

The majority of coffee production in the regions of Ethiopia is from the wild coffee tree forests and from there has spread across the world. However, because of the necessary growing conditions, which require plenty of sunshine and rain, the coffee trees are only found in tropical or sub-tropical locations. There is a narrow strip of about 25 degrees both North and South of the equator where basically all of the coffee in the world is produced. It is incredible that so much product can be produced from such a small amount of eligible environment. Coffee actually is the second highest commodity in the world next to oil when measured in dollar value. This lucrative product does come from some of the world's under-developed and poor countries oddly enough.

Brazil is still the largest producer of coffee. Brazil produces about 28% of all the coffee. Colombia is next at about 16% followed by Indonesia with about 7%. Mexico trails with about 4%. Coffee trees have adapted to different environments but the best coffee still comes from the high altitudes. I use only Brazilian coffee in my coffee brewer (it's a Bunn).

Brazil has huge coffee farms that employ several hundred workers to look after care of the trees. Colombia because of its mountainous terrain and low economic conditions involves transport by either mule or Jeep. Hawaiian coffee producers use Mauna Loa volcano slopes to plant their coffee trees. The location is perfect for both sunlight and precipitation.

Indonesia is comprised of numerous islands and this is where coffee has grown since the 17th century when the Dutch colonists arrived. Indonesia is known to have the perfect climate for coffee although other countries definitely have higher forms of technology. The most farms are found on the islands of Sumatra, Java, and Sulawesi.

The Mexico coffee farms are rather small farms in comparison to Brazil, but there are about 100,000 of them. The majority are found in the south around the Vercruz, Oaxaca, and Chiapas. Mexico is also known for its Altura beans which are grown at the highest of altitudes. Vietnam has been gaining in coffee production rapidly and quickly approaching Indonesia's position. Although the country originally was farming Arabica beans, it known produces Robusta beans.

Africa is known for its dark and large coffee beans, although they are rather a small producer of coffee. In Kenya the beans are one of the largest in the world and therefore have resulted in the well known fruity taste. The Ivory Coast is known for its production of espresso blends. Regardless of where the coffee comes from, there are plenty of coffee drinkers around the world to enjoy each and every one. Each individual coffee lover most definitely has a favorite, however, finding a favorite can only come from trying many different kinds.

Home Espresso Machines

By Juan Valdez

Many people believe that coffee is essential to human life. I personally cannot truly wake up until I have drunk at least two cups of coffee in the morning.

Coffee, containing caffeine, is a stimulant (also called xanthine alkaloid) and is found in the coffee bean and the tea leaf. As one of the most consumed drinks by adult people throughout the world, it provides awareness to the brain that spreads throughout the entire body.

Home coffee makers and espresso makers. Coffee makers are generally one of two types, coffee brewers or espresso machines. Espresso machines are favorites of true coffee lovers because they instantly produce fresh, strong coffee.

Espresso machines come in lots of varieties and options. There are commercial, automatic, stovetop, and semi-automatic machines. All types work in the same kind of way. Boiling water is pushed over fresh coffee grounds to produce the "espresso shot," the frothy and pungent coffee.

Some people simply drink the espresso shot, but others sweeten it with milks or creamers. It's all a matter of personal preference. If you want the authentic taste of professionally brewed coffee, opt for the espresso machine. The coffee produced by traditional coffee brewers simply put out a diluted version of espresso. If you want a tamer flavor without having to add cream then a coffee brewing machine is all right, but the real genuine coffee taste will always come from an espresso machine.

Variations of Espresso - The various types of espresso machines available produce many different taste and intensities of espresso, regardless of the exact production, the result is still identifiable as the basis for high quality coffee beverages.

Lots of different kinds of coffee flavored drinks have been developed, and many of them have enjoyed great popularity in recent years. One of them is the Caf Latte, which pairs espresso with milk. A cappuccino does the same thing, but tops it off with froth; a cortado is just a plain shot of frothy espresso.

Mocha a cafe latte with chocolate syrup added. The same technique as the mocha can be used to a turn a cafe latte into different drinks by adding vanilla, amaretto, caramel, or other flavorings and syrups.

Since espresso coffee is enjoyed all year round, there are many seasonal varieties to celebrate the holidays. Raspberry for Valentine's Day, for example. Whenever you drink them, these tasty drinks are to be savored and enjoyed!
